Verizon Annnd … Action!

Verizon Annnd … Action!

Who wants to direct?
Everyone, evidently.
By partnering with Steven Spielberg to launch On the Lot,
Verizon went on to sponsor the first ever mobil phone film festival,
and I’m pleased to say, some were even SFW.

INT. PLUSH OFFICE – HOLLYWOOD – DAY

STEVEN SPIELBERG, handsome and timeless sits behind a solid gold desk. A translucent ray of light shines down from above and cascades over the genius as he cradles a phone receiver between his ear and shoulder.

STEVEN
(into the phone)

Michael, I love it. You’ve just made the Citizen Kane of in-theater advertising.

MICHAEL
(into the phone)

Thanks, Mr. Spielberg, but … who the hell is Citizen Cane?

Steven sighs.

STEVEN
(into the phone)

It’s … a movie. A classic.

MICHAEL
(into the phone)

Oh, wait. That’s the old one, right? By Oscar Wilde.

Steven shakes his head.

STEVE
(into the phone)

Okay … well … again … good work kid.

CLICK!

MICHAEL
(into the phone)

Hello? Steven? You there?

And Scene.

Okay, it didn’t quite play out like that, but when the client is Steven Spielberg your nerves can get the best of you.

“Director’s Chair” is a two minute, award-winning cinema piece designed to support the partnership between Verizon and “On The Lot,” a project created by Steven Spielberg and Mark Burnett that led to the first-ever mobile phone film festival.
