Creative Director | Storyteller
Michael has shared a karaoke mic with Bob Dylan at 3 am in Tokyo. He’s also performed in some of New York’s seediest comedy clubs. Michael has written for John Landis, Dan Aykroyd, and David Letterman, tweaked dialogue for Christian Bale, ridden shotgun with Dale Earnhardt Jr., and actually sold a screenplay that went, well, nowhere.
Michael also has a habit of telling tales, but what the hell, that’s what storytellers do, right?
From an early age, Michael set his sights on advertising. Knowing how the industry loves accents (Swedish, anyone?), Michael couldn’t wait to show off his Kentucky drawl. In case you’re wondering, a country twang doesn’t have the same street cred.
Michael has created award-winning work in radio and online, developed six-second pre-roll ads to three-minute in-theater epics, and though socially awkward in that “writer kind of way,” Michael introduced a host of OTC clients to the world of social media. He’s even been known to blow the dust off of a TV script or two.
Michael has worked across categories, including wireless networks, automotive, NASCAR, luxury shoes, pet food, and film studios – including a ginormous integrated campaign that gave Verizon Wireless an exclusive partnership with Christopher Nolan properties such as The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, and Interstellar.
For DenTek, Michael turned The Nutcracker into the poster child for teeth grinding. He also brought Tony Stewart and Lewis Hamilton together for Mobil 1, launched Led Zeppelin’s remastered catalog, and helped Tiger Woods give away some Buicks.
Michael has worked in senior creative posts around the world, including Vancouver, Tokyo, London, and Detroit. Presently, he lives and works in NYC.
